Position: Gallery Manager

Reports to: Director of Operations
Position Overview:
The Gallery Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the gallery, including sales, customer relations,
exhibitions, and inventory management. This role ensures that the gallery runs smoothly, providing a welcoming and
engaging environment for visitors, while also working to increase sales and promote artists.
Key Responsibilities:
● Plan, develop, and direct daily operations within the Gallery.
● Oversee the management of the gallery space, ensuring it is well-organized, clean, and visually appealing.
● Curate and coordinate exhibitions, artist showcases, and gallery events.
● Merchandise inventory to maximize sales and profit potential. Direct and implement promotional strategies and
programs.
● Act as Company’s point of contact with customers. Respond to customer inquiries and resolve customer
complaints according to our customer service standards, ensuring complete customer satisfaction at all times.
This will include, but is not limited to:
○ Assisting customers in purchasing artwork, providing product knowledge and facilitating special and
custom orders.
○ Maintaining relationships with artists, collectors, and other key stakeholders.
○ Overseeing the Gallery Staff email account and directing customer requests and inquiries to certain
Gallery Staff and other relevant departments.
● Manage Gallery inventory, including displays, pricing, and stock levels, including, but not limited to:
○ Ordering and receiving inventory for the Gallery from artists, including in-house, wholesale and on
consignment.
○ Keeping an up-to-date inventory on necessary supplies for the Gallery and placing orders from
suppliers.
○ Scheduling and overseeing full inventory counts at the beginning of the year.
● Develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies within the Gallery to attract new customers and
increase sales.
● Track sales and report on gallery performance to the Director of Operations.
● Forecast and analyze sales, labor, profit; and, ensure compliance with established budget.
● Recruit, supervise, train, schedule, discipline, review, and direct the Gallery Staff, including scheduling and
running Gallery Staff meetings.
● Monitor and supervise set-up and maintenance of retail area and cashier stations to ensure quality standards.
● Maintain daily register count records.
● Help implement long and short-term company goals.
Qualifications:
● Proven experience in gallery or art exhibition management, with knowledge of art sales and curation.
● Excellent communication and customer service skills.
● Strong organizational skills, with experience in event planning.
● A background in the arts, with knowledge of glassblowing or fine art is a plus.
● Proficiency in inventory management and point-of-sale systems.
● Passion for the arts and a dedication to creating a welcoming gallery atmosphere.
