Join us for The Great Pumpkin Hunt, a scavenger hunt taking place throughout Duluth, MN on Halloween! 

WHAT: A family friendly scavenger hunt around Duluth, MN.

  • Clues will be announced throughout the day on our website and social media. 
  • 16 mini solid glass pumpkins will be hidden. 
  • If you find a pumpkin and you post a photo of the pumpkin and where you found it on Facebook or Instagram, you will be entered into a drawing to win a FREE CLASS.
  • YOU KEEP THE PUMPKIN
  • This is a COSTUMED event!  All kids participating can send us a photo of their costume for a mini online costume contest!
  • Win an extra prize for posing in costume with our SECRET SPY DOG. 
  • Please limit yourself to one pumpkin per child/person. We are hiding around 16 mini pumpkins, so please allow everyone to share in on the fun.

WHY: Halloween is one of our favorite times of the year! We love to dress up and this year with COVID Restrictions, we are afraid that kids might not get a true Halloween experience. 

WHEN: The scavenger hunt will take place on Saturday, Oct 31, 2020. Clues will be released throughout the day. 

One clue will be released on social media and on our website every 30min, starting at 8am and going until 4pm. 

HOW: How do you participate? Just follow us and start looking for pumpkins on Saturday, Oct 31, 2020

 


Welcome to The Great Pumpkin Hunt!

To hunt pumpkins with us today please understand:
1. You are responsible for yourself and your party. You are expected to follow all laws during the Pumpkin Hunt. (And just always)
2. Do not damage anything. Be respectful of public property and stay away from private property.
3. Respect Duluth’s Parks team and their work. Do not disrupt any landscaping or property.
4. Follow all social distancing guidelines. Please be safe and respectful of other people’s space.
5. Please only find one pumpkin. There are only 16 and many families are hoping to find one.
6. Please communicate with us when you have found a pumpkin. We want people to know if they are still working on that clue.

and on this web page. One clue will be released every half hour starting at 8am! Be sure to be on the lookout for our SECRET SPY DOG for extra prizes!
Come in costume! Send us a photo of your kid’s or family costume and we will enter you in our Kid’s Costume Contest online for a chance to win a free Kids Class!
(If you enter, please note that we will be creating a public album on Facebook for the public to vote on their favorite costume.)

Clue #1: Bert had this land set aside for the city after he passed. We now enjoy this spot with a five story view.

Clue #2: Built by the Junior's, this park uses equipment designed to enhance children's balance, coordination, and strength. Will you use these skills to find your pumpkin?

Clue #3: Don’t be a □ this Halloween! This historic park hosted one of Duluth’s first playgrounds and used to feature a fountain and surrounding pool.

Clue #4: Your pumpkin can be found somewhere at the park featuring the World’s Longest Freshwater Sandbar.

Clue #5: The Allandale Farm now hosts a park filled with much to offer. Walk the trail to find your pumpkin.

Clue #6: Renamed to honor those from the past, this park is truly a grand heart place.

Clue #7: This park used to feature a way for skiers to touch the sky…. Cross the creek to find this pumpkin!
THIS PUMPKIN HAS BEEN FOUND at Chester Creek Park!

Clue #8: This park was originally developed for auto camping but now is a popular photo spot.
Don't get LOG jammed down there!
THIS PUMPKIN HAS BEEN FOUND at Brighton Beach!

Clue #9: A certain ship was donated to the city to be put on display, and they renamed this park after a Norwegian explorer in honor.

Clue #10: This park was owned originally by the Duluth CRUSHED Co before the city took it over.

Clue #11:  This park originated in the 1850s and was eventually a school for some time before being converted back to a community park.

Clue #12: Chester donated this park to the city in 1902 on the condition that the City stop using the creek as an open sewer.

Clue #13: This park was originally a cemetery in the pioneer days. In the 1880s this cemetery was moved and the Duluth Lifesaving Station lived in this spot that is now a park.

 Clue #14: This park used to be the grounds for the county fair, but now you can really grind here.
